Refreshed and Ready

January 4, 2010

Happy New Year!  Something happens to me after the holidays (a relaxing and rejuvenating break helps) and I feel refreshed, ready to tackle new challenges and set new goals.  Having said this, they are not really resolutions as much as they are reassessing projects, re-prioritizing and looking toward the future to see what will be coming next.

First big goal is to do the Sock Knitters Anonymous sock challenges 12 months in a row.  A whole year of making socks.  I did this in 2008 and took 2009 off.  I’ve started on January (I almost started at midnight) with a textured sock.

Pattern: Escalator Sock by Sara Amoroso
Yarn: Malabrigo Sock in Alcaucil
Needles: Knitpicks US size 1

It’s been a long time since I’ve felt the addiction of socks pulling.  I’m looking forward to having socks regularly on the needles again.

Another goal for 2010 was already beginning in 2009, design more.  I have several designs that are halfway completed, and I had mentioned I started on a new one.

This design is almost complete.  It still needs a name and I think I need one more test knitter.  Test knitting will hopefully be done sometime in February, and the design will be ready by March. (Cross my fingers)  Would love to hear name ideas if you have any.

The last big new adventure I have going on right now is I’ve started a 0-3 music class.  I’ve always just taught violin, but this last summer I went to Kansas and did training for and Early Childhood Education Suzuki Music Class.  I’ve got all sorts of new instruments to play with!

Lastly, I’m hoping to keep blogging on a more regular basis.  I’ve enjoyed returning to the internet community the past few months and hope to keep that going.

    Oooo, pretty pattern.

I really really really like it… I’d love to be your tester if you don’t have one lined up.

I alerted Margaret to this latest post. I want more of her socks. You can be her role model.

If you keep up with your blog, you can be a role model for me too.

The shawl is beautiful. I’d offer to test knit but I think I wouldn’t turn it around in a timely fashion.

I’d have to see it stretched out to suggest a name, right now “Cathedral” comes to mind but that could change with a complete view of the pattern.
