Finished Muir

November 5, 2009

I will post about my awesome retreat soon, but first I want to show off my finished Muir.

I got the wool at Dyelots in Eugene.  Janis does fabulous colors, and I have especially been weak to her more sinister colorways.  While I was in her shop, she had a large basket of wool blend for next to nothing and I couldn’t help but cave in.

Would you have been able to resist?

Even though Janis had recommended a softly spun chubby single, I threw all caution to the wind and went with lace.  Obviously, I’ve been obsessed with lace lately, so I really had no choice.

A Jasmine Cat for proportion.

Since the fiber was a wool blend, it isn’t the softest yarn ever.  I have a very high tolerance for itch though, so I don’t mind.  I do love how the colors ended up, and knitting the pattern was fun and quick.  The shawl is a large shawl that can be worn many different ways.

Now that I’ve been finishing so many projects it’s time for me to start casting on!

It’s beautiful! I love this pattern and have some yarn set aside to knit it up for one of my good friends. Other knits have to take priority but your pictures reminded me how much I want to cast this on!
