First Hedera

May 13, 2007

I’ve been working on Hedera from Knitty.  I guess I have a thing for Cookie patterns lately.  I’ve finished the first sock and decided it was time for some photos.

I’ve really enjoyed this pattern.  It’s so simple, beautiful and works well with the varigated yarn.  Usually I don’t like patterned socks with varigated yarns, but this one works well.

I didn’t think I would do anything pink for project spectrum, but these work perfectly. The yarn actually has all three colors; pink, green, gold (plus a little purple for good measure).  And they’ll look great with my green Keens.

I love my Keens! I have the Briggs [lace ups] in ocean/cement. They’re so comfortable. I’m sizing up a few styles of their sandals as well, to buy come July once I’m done paying for wedding things.

I think a lot of Cookie’s patterns work well with variegated yarns! I think the yarn you chose works perfect! Great looking sock!

I love the socks! I am always looking for a pattern that will work with varigated yarn. I get bored easily and love to have an interesting pattern to work with. This yarn did great!

Ooooh, pretty! You’ve probably already mentioned this and I’m flaking, but what yarn is that? It’s gorgeous.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! The yarn is Lorna’s Laces. I’ve really liked how it knits up. The fabric is the perfect density and softness. These are promising to be snazzy socks.

I love the sock! Have been tempted by that pattern and now I think I must knit it. :) Those keens are great for showing off handknit socks. :)
