New Fiber in Eugene
April 24, 2007
There will be a new fiber shop in Eugene! Suzie Liles will be opening the Eugene Textile Center focusing on weaving and surface design.
It sounds like there will be Looms, weaving supplies and classroom space for classes, including a dye kitchen for cellulose and protein fibers. It will be located on Highway 99 south of Beltline highway.
As much as I haven’t really had any interest in weaving yet (yet being the operative word here), I will welcome new fiber related businesses any day!

i think weaving would be good to try ;)
I just finished a weaving class with Susie Lile on March. Such a wonderful lady! I wish her all the best of luck in her new venture.
Hi, I’m Marilyn Robert, Suzie’s partner in Eugene Textile Center. We plan to open in September/October 2007 and will announce our grand opening event. We are excited to get started with our retail shop and our weaving and surface design studios. Workshops in Oct, Nov, and Dec include; beginning weaving, 8-shaft weaves, weaving pleats, drafting/design, bound shibori, blockprinting, discharge, dyeing, and beginning spinning.
The retail store at 1510 Jacobs Drive in Eugene will sell materials and equipment to weavers and surface designers. We will also offer studio rental, opportunities to sit down at a loom and weave a scarf or a throw, drop-in indigo dyeing, a library and meeting room. We see ETC developing as a gathering place for a community of fiber artists and craftspeople, and textile afficionados.
We’re just putting our website together http://www.eugenetextilecenter.com
