River Rapids Socks
September 12, 2006
I have another pair of finished socks. I think this may be the last pair I can get in for Summer of Socks. It’s the pair I’ve sent to my sock partner. I don’t think she’s gotten them yet, because I haven’t heard from her, but I’m going to post about them anyway.

- Pattern: River Rapids Socks (pdf) from Sock Bug
- Needles: Audi Turbos US size 1 – 2 circulars
- Yarn: Opal 75% superwash, 25% nylon
- Time: Started August 22nd – September 1st
This pattern was great! I really like the heel on this one. It alternates where you slip the stitiches on the knit rows so that you get little diamond shapes. You can see the detail in the first photo. This pattern went really quickly and was great to knit up. I’ll be checking out more of Sock Bug’s patterns in the future.

They look great, Jodie! You knit them so quickly!
The quickness was because I was under a deadline. They had to be done by September 1st. Actually they were supposed to be sent by September 1st, but that didn’t happen. However, they are now happily on their way across the ocean.
I kept intending to knit loads of socks & stockings this summer but all I managed was the one pair of stockings. Now just I’m trying to get my UFO pile down to a more managable level.
Yeah, right.
I keep starting two projects for every one I finish. Of course, I don’t really want to knit on the ones with deadlines either. Let’s not even start talking about holiday knitting.
