Where will I put My Yarn Stash?

April 11, 2006

If you read Anthony’s blog then you already know this, but for those that don’t I get to share the news. For the last few months Anthony and I have been looking for a house. It’s been great fun looking, not to mention all of the bad taste in paint colors and weird home “improvements” we have witnessed. This last weekend (on my birthday actually) we found a house, put an offer on it, and they accepted!

So this next month will be a whirlwind of new stuff. I won’t be fully moving in right away (I have my lease until the end of June), but I will be working on all the small improvements we want to make before we move in. You know, stripping wall paper, ripping up the horrid carpets to uncover beautiful hardwood floors, and painting. Not quite in that order. This is completely new territory, and is very exciting. I couldn’t sleep last night because I was thinking of paint colors. What is going on!?

Hi, thanks for coming by my blog!

A good ‘first lace project’ is the Branching Out scarf from Knitty. It is a lace project that you don’t have to use lace weight yarn to do.

Now I’m getting excited to start something new. Not that I don’t have enough on the needles right now… a pair of socks, a surprise for my mom, and a scarf from Scarf Style. I got some lace weight recently though and I think I may just go for it and see what happens. I do really like Branching Out. Yours turned out beautifully.

’tis exciting indeed, Jodie! I’ve been watching Ant’s space closely – v. excited for you both! Enjoy all that good stuff! Mind you, I’ve been in my place over a year now [v. hard to believe!] and I’m yet to strip, sand, paint, etc… Not that I haven’t wanted to get rid of the LIME green loo or the crazy-arsed ORANGE laundry or the mental ‘sponged’ blue so-called feature wall in my spare room, but alas… I will get there!!!

Looking forward to seeing the pics and hearing the progress…

    Cheers

Congratulations! It sounds like a lot of exciting things are coming together quickly for you. Good luck with school your lessons, and the house.

Luckily we have some time to do a few things before the big move in. Some of the renovations are definitely long term though, so no big rush.

Things are coming together nicely. I’ve been really enjoying my lessons lately. I think the change of weather to spring has really uplifted my spirits. I’ve been in the mood to get a lot of quality work done. It’s been great.
