Relay for Life
I’ve been involved in Relay for Life for a long time now. I attended in Albuquerque and was a team captain and committee member in Flagstaff, AZ. Now that I’m not in Flagstaff, my team is continuing on without me and doing a great job of it too. My good friend Laura was Co-captain with me last year and this year she has taken over the team Relay Renegades and charging on with stride.
Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Since I am a cancer survivor, I work hard to search for a cure. The American Cancer Society provides services for cancer patients and their family. They also contribute greatly toward the research to find a cure. Everyone has been touched by cancer at some point and it still takes to many lives.
Our team has done many different fundraisers in the past. They have taken pledges for their efforts, sold crocheted hats and scarves, ribbons, bracelets. We have hosted relay olympics for other participants to compete in. My favorite is the “how many marshmallows can you fit in your mouth/Chubby Bunny” contest We have also made a jail for the night of the event and offered to jail people for $1 and let them be free for $1.
I will not be participating this year because I am too far away, but I encourage you to find your local Relay for Life activities. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it feels great to contribute in some way.
If you are interested in donating.

Wow! Jodie, thanks for the support and for writing about relay in your blog. I hope you are doing well. Happy Belated Birthday! Did you get my birthday present in the mail? I hope you like it. Well, I’ve gotta go for now. You can still join the relay team if you want. Talk to you soon.
Love,
Laura
I hope you get a few donations from the post. I think I may do a donation instead of joining the team this year. You guys are doing great! I will be talking to you soon!
