Danica Entrelac Scarf
March 17, 2006
I started this over winter break and finished it a long time ago, but it took me forever to finish it. Mostly because I didn’t want to weave in the ends. When I finally got around to weaving in the ends it didn’t take hardly any time. This was my first time doing Entrelac and it was really easy. It also kept things very interesting and I would be totally willing to do it again.
Here’s the pattern;

I saw that pattern when Knitty first posted it, and it totally caught my eye. Probably because the designer/model is a hottie (hey,let’s be honest), and he has an addi turbo devoted to knitting socks for his wife (what’s not to love)…but mostly because this scarf looked like a good first entrelac project (which I haven’t tried yet).
It’s going to be awhile before you can talk me into another project that leaves so many ends to be sewn in, though. My last scarf (Rockstar, from Knitty) and my current scarf (Latifa, also from Knity) both seem to have more sewing-in than knitting! In fact, with Latifa, between the color changes and the ruffles, there will be a grand total of 108 ends to sew in. (yes, I counted)
Wisely, I’ve been stopping to sew a few in every once in awhile ;-)
Great scarf you knit up ;-)
Love the colors.
Thanks. It actually was a nice challenge but not too much so. I did it pretty religiously over the winter break while at home. There weren’t too many ends to weave in at the end. I watched a movie while doing it and I was done well before the movie was. I’d say it took me about an hour and a half.
I’m absolutly a Knitty addict. I always go over there first when looking for ideas for a new project. I’ve got another scarf almost finished (from Scarf Style) and am debating on what I want to start. So many possibilities. I’m sure something will just start on it’s own.
