Jack Johnson – In Between Dreams

January 20, 2006

As I was out shopping for cat food at Target, I decided to take a little peek at the CD’s. This is always dangerous because I’m bound to find several things I want, and usually a few of them are on sale. That was when I ran into the Jack Johnson CD begging me to take it home. I had been meaning to get it for awhile, and now that I finally have, I love it. The nice thing about this CD is that its something that you could listen to at parties, while making dinner, on a road trip or just about anywhere. I think I’ve memorized exactly how many times my thumb has to move around the click wheel to get to the Jack Johnson spot.

What CD is constantly living in your CD player, or on you playlists? I’m always looking for a few good recommendations

I just bought Sufjan Stevens’s Illinois, which I know every indie kid on earth talks about, but it’s actually really good. I listened to it all the way to Portland, driving around town, and back yesterday, which makes for four times through the CD (it’s that good!).

Whoa! That’s so weird! Jodie, I was just going to tell you about the very same CD!!!! It’s good! In fact, I am listening to it right now as I write to you. He will be doing a CD for every state. I decided to get ILLINOIS since I am a new resident of the state. Wonder what NM and AZ will sound like? He also has a CD for Michigan.

I’m going to have to check out Sufjan Stevens now that it’s been recommended twice. That’s a great idea to do a CD for every state. Does that mean you get to visit each state for enhance the artistic interpretations? I just got a gift certificate to Borders so I may have to do some CD research before I make a decision.
