Language of Cats

December 28, 2005

A long, long time ago I took a Spanish class. It seemed appropriate while I was living in New Mexico. One of the things I remember vividly (and probably one of the only things) is that Cats have a different sound in Spanish. Cats don’t say meow but instead they say grau…or something like that. I was wondering if any of the people reading this could let me know what sound cats make in their language. Like what do cats say in German, or in Arabic? Thanks!

French = Miaou (pronounced mee-auo, more or less)

Another one to add to my list. You know I’m just trying to teach Jasmine new languages.

Looks like they are all about the same, just with different accents. Starting with an “m” seems to be the most common way to go.
