Nestucca Bay Textile Company in Pacific City, OR
Over Thanksgiving weekend, Anthony and I took a little trip out to the coast. We got tons of great pictures and once I get them all organized I’ll make sure to post them.
We stayed in Pacific City. It’s a tiny town with one stop sign just north of Lincoln City. The first night we were looking for a place to eat and I spotted it. A large sandwich board sign that said “Yarn Store.” Not even the darkness could keep me from spotting this one.
The next day I begged for a chance to check out the store (I claimed I need to check it out for my blog) and of course I was allowed to make a quick trip. Nestucca Bay Textile Company is a cute little store with all the necessary types of yarn. I found some stripy sock yarn on sale and picked it up. They had several pattern books that were interesting, but I didn’t get a chance to look to closely. Check out theirwebsite and if you’re ever on the coast, stop in.
Your story about seeing the sign in the dark is funny. I spot yarn stores everywhere too and my husband is so great he sometimes doen’t even wait for me to say anything. He’ll just say something like “I’m guessing you’re going to want to go there, aren’t you?” with a dejected tone of voice. He’s actually quite a good sport about it all.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been teased for my love of yarn. I used to hide it and only crochet (back before I knew how to knit) with closed doors, especially in the dorms. You know you’ve got someone special when they just let you be you.
