I kicked some booty on the word count today! I am really happy with it, and I’m starting feel like I might be able to get this done! Thanks for all the support Anthony. I would have given up a long time ago if you hadn’t kept pushing me on. I feel so lucky to have the comments supporting me on my blog too. I feel like I have my own personal cheer leading bunch. Give me a J! Give me an O! Give me a D! Give me an I! Give me an E! Jodie! She can NaNo, yes she can!!!

Nows the time to push into the home stretch. I realized I have a ton of characters so I’m going to do a quick sketch her instead of an excerpt.
Ellen/Lilly; Main character. She struggles with being desperate for an income and her values as a person. Being desperate wins out. Ends up changing her name as her identity morphs through the book.
Ilene; Ellen’s roommate from college and best friend. They end up separating at the beginning of the book but remain connected through other characters.
David; Ilene’s beau. Also is new to the speakeasy business. Likes having several women, and but is staying with Ilene because she is pregnant.
Bathtub; The boss of The Buzz. Specializes in making gin.
Katrina; Gets Ellen into the speakeasy lifestyle in the first place. Starts as Ellen’s mentor then ends up being competition
Max; A regular customer at The Buzz. Is numb from the aftereffects of WWI. He is friends with Katrina and goes to The Buzz to escape the world.
Gus; One of the main bodyguards for The Buzz. Is Bathtub’s cronies.
James; I guy that Ellen goes on a date with before she is completely engrossed with The Buzz. Is one of her chances to escape the speakeasy lifestyle.
I think that’s all of the main ones. If you’ve noticed another character on the excerpts and are not sure who they are let me know. Thanks for reading!
Nice character breakdown. Good variety of personalities. And hey – you got this far because of you. Good job – you’re so going to whip this novel-in-a-month thing!
I hope my characters make a little more sense. It’s interesting to see how they have changed as I’ve written the book. They really do take on a life of their own.

You are doing fine, it will be hard to keep it up over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I think you can!
I’m actually spending some time during the Thanksgiving holiday to be lazy and write. Those are the two goals. Oh, and I’m going to spend some time on the coast. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving rip8fan!
