Ellen’s first Speakeasy;
Ellen’s escort stopped in front of her and she got her first glimpse of him. He was about six feet tall, maybe a little more and large in a very solid way. He shifted a box to the side and opened up a trap door on the floor. There was a small staircase leading down to a dimly lit room. “Go ahead†he said as she stood there not sure of what do to. She headed down the small staircase and was blasted by a wave of sound. The place was full of people dancing, laughing and singing and it felt like she had entered another dimension. A world where jobs, wars and money were never a problem. The man didn’t follow her down, but instead slammed the small trap door and latched it shut. She heard the box slide back over the door. There certainly was no turning back now.
Ellen immediatly felt how she stuck out like a sore thumb in this new world. Her cloths despite the improvements were shabby and plain, her hair and make-up seemed dull and her obvious discomfort was alien to the rest of the inhabitants of this world. All of the girls wore dazzling dresses, had their hair cut short with sparkling headbands and stood as if they hadn’t a care in the world. Ellen carefully crawled along the outer wall trying to find a method of escape.
The room was not only filled with bright colors and vibrant personalities, but with the tinge of smoke and alcohol. Everyone around had a cigarette in their mouth and ice in their drink. Ellen had never really been exposed to the world of alcohol, but it was obvious the rest of the room was relishing in the effect.
Congrats sweetie, I knew you could do it!
PS – I like the new template too.
I’m glad you like the new template! I’m excited to try and play with the design a little. I’m so glad that you’re doing this NaNo thing with me.
